Protall …named after a company founded in Holland in 1892 and was known for manufacturing and developing all kind of paints . Protall Company for paints and chemical industries is a stock company manufacturing paints; decorative ( emulsion and enamel ), industrial and masonry paints.

The company was founded in 1978 and started as a partnership company. The owners were Dr. Abdel Moneim Khalifa and Dr. Wagdi Khalifa . It was known as the first Egyptian company producing masonry paints under its own know-how and competing with all imported products in the market at that time . Then the legal form of the company changed in 1st November 2001 to a stock company but the family members only own the shares .The Authorized capital is 100 Million Egyptian Pounds while The issued capital (Actual total paid) is 36 Million Egyptian Pounds .

The chairman is Dr. Abdel Moneim Khalifa, the vice president is Dr. Wagdi Khalifa and there are three board members .The total number of employees are approximately 500 employees and the factory is located in Alexandria-Cairo desert road on the 24-25 Kilo, in Amerya industrial zone. There are five main plants built on an area of 30000 m2 approximately producing different types of paints with total sales revenues of approximately 50 Million E.P. , yearly production of about 15 000 MT, with an average of 50 MT daily . 80 % of the total production goes to the decorative water-base emulsion paints and Protall posses a reputable name in this segment with 5% market share .
